Our Rainbow grades follow the main syllabus below, however there is an additional belt grading included per full coloured belt to ensure the syllabus is broken into pockets of learning to meet the younger students levels. Upon reaching 8 years old, the studnets are transferred into the Rainbow Syllabus.
White signifies innocence, as that of the beginning student who has no previous knowledge of Taekwon-Do.
Yellow signifies earth, from which a plant grows and takes root as Taekwon-Do foundation is being laid.
Green signifies the plants growth as Taekwon-Do skills begin to develop.
Blue signifies the heaven towards which the plant grows as training in Taekwon-Do progresses.
Red signifies danger, cautioning the student to exercise control, and warning the opponent to stay away.
Opposite to white, therefore signifying the maturity and proficiency in Taekwon-Do. Also indicates the wearers imperviousness to darkness and fear.
Wear black piping along the lower edge of dobok shirt. Considered ‘novice.’
All grades from IV Degree wear additional black piping along sleeves and trouser legs. Considered ‘Expert.’
Considered ‘the elite’. Grand Master denotes a full knowledge of Taekwon-do, and many decades of experience at the fore of teaching & promoting the art.
